Rendr Partners with NYC Council Member to Distribute 300 Frozen Chickens

Rendr held a community food distribution event with City Council Member Susan Zhang on November 25th at Reaching Out Community Services in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, providing 300 frozen chickens along with food pantry items and gifts to local residents in celebration of Thanksgiving.
Nearly twenty volunteers participated in the event, distributing the frozen chickens donated by Rendr, as well as rice, cooking oil, fresh produce and gift bags. As early as two hours before the event began, long lines had already formed, including many elderly members of the Chinese community.
Council Member Susan Zhang noted that during the suspension of SNAP program, many residents seek help due to food shortages. This food distribution helped meet urgent needs. She emphasized that financial hardship should not result in a lower quality of life. Zhang presented commendation certificates to Rendr and Reaching Out Community Services, encouraging more community organizations and businesses to fulfill their social responsibilities and provide meaningful support to those in need.
Alex Mitchell, President and Chief Financial Officer of Rendr, stated that food insecurity can lead to malnutrition, which over time increases the risk of chronic diseases and makes recovery more difficult when illness occurs. While Rendr is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to the community, the organization also hopes to connect residents with social resources to support disease prevention and long-term health management.
According to Rendr, the company recently launched Rendr Cares program, a new initiative dedicated to expanding community outreach, with this food distribution serving as the first step. In the future, Rendr plans to offer a series of health lectures, free screenings, and other services focused on common health issues within the Chinese community.
